I have been very busy this past week making a wedding gift for my friend Stacey. As Stacey is the person who initially got me stamping, I had to make something really great for her!
The first picture shows the whole ensemble: box with monogrammed stationery, exploding box, bride & groom nugget boxes, and wedding card. In the middle of the picture is the wedding invitation Stacey made. I wanted to show that as I created the gifts around the color of the invitation. Please note: I could not upload all photos into one posting, so the wedding card post will follow separately.
I used Bazzill cardstock in Guacamole, Lily Pond, and Spring Breeze. The patterned paper is from Michael’s. Stacey used the brown, but I used all three shades that it came in.
I replicated the invitation and that is what is standing in the middle of the exploding box. I just separated one set of flaps to give you an idea of what each section looks like (I didn’t think you would want to see more pictures of my hand!). This one shows the matron of honor. On the other sides there is: best man, ring bearer, and flower girls.
I used my Just Rite Stamper small letters/numbers set to create the emblem on the top of the box. It reads: Stacey & Brian November 16, 2008. In the middle is an embossed punch of a wedding cake (Martha Stewart punch).
I made 12 monogrammed cards and envelopes using the Curlz Font from Just Rite Stamper. If you are not familiar with JRS, you can visit their site here:
I lined the envelopes with the matching patterned paper. I cut each piece 5 10/16 x 5 15/16. It slid perfectly into the envelope. I trimmed a sliver off each side where the paper hung over the flap, folded, and ran my embellishment glue stick along the top of the PP to adhere it to the flap of the envelope.
Following are the measurements for the box:
12 x 12 cardstock scored at 4 3/4 & 7 1/4 on one side and 3 & 9 on the other side. At the 4 3/4 and 7 1/4 score lines, cut each side to meet the 3 and 9 score lines. From those cut lines outward, cut 1/2 inch off. Assemble box using red sticky tape.
Following are the measurements for the cover:
Cardstock cut at 5 3/4 x 9 1/4. Score at 1 1/2 all around. On the long ends, cut along score line to meet cross score. Assemble cover using red sticky tape. For the patterned paper overlay, cut paper 6 3/4 x 10 1/4.
I got the templates for the adorable bride and groom boxes here:
There are some really nice templates available for purchase, but you should hurry–due to illness, Sherry will be shutting down her site on December 1.
Don’t forget to check my next posting for pictures/details on the wedding card.
