Happy Saturday!
Have you ever participated in any of the SCS VSNs? My friend Jean has been encouraging me to participate. She has been a VSN hostess for some of the past challenges. Last evening there was a VSN Mini so I popped in and decided to participate in two of the challenges. In case you aren’t familiar with VSN, there is challenge posted every hour and each challenge must be completed within 45 minutes.
So, on to the challenges I participated in.
The first one was to make a monochromatic baby card. This was perfect timing as Wolfgang asked me a couple of weeks ago to make a card for his daughter, but I hadn’t gotten around to it. So, here is the card for Katja:
The Onsie base is Pretty in Pink and I embossed just the front with a SU Background Texturz plate (small dots). The trim is from the Tea Party DSP. The little onsie (retired SU stamped) was stamped with Pretty in Pink on Whisper White, then layered on Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, & DSP. You can find the tutorial for the onsie-shaped card here.
The stamp used on the inside is from the retired Punches Three set.
The second challenge I participated in was to create a card with at least one popped-up flower.
The image is from the Spring Song set. It was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black on Shimmery White paper and embossed with clear embossing powder. I watercolored with re-inkers and markers. The ovals were cut using a Coluzzle template. I stamped two additional flowers and, after hand-cutting them, attached them with pop dots. The card base is Old Olive and the matting is Regal Rose. The Thank You on the inside is a retired SU stamp.
Lisa I love both of our cards the onsie is so sweet and pretty and that hummingbird gorgeous.
WOW, you made each of these in less than 45 minutes!!! I have never participated in these since it takes me forever to make anything, LOL These are both so wonderful I would have guessed that the 2 of them would have taken you all day!
Wonderful challenge cards – I just love that baby card – perfect!
nice to know you ~........................................
I made some of these onesies cards last year. They are so fun to make. And yours came out so adorable. I really like the addition of the "snaps".
Your hummingbird card is so pretty. The popped up flower really does add a nice touch.
