I hope everyone had a great weekend. I sure did–I put my crafting cap and came up with this Pumpkin Basket Gift Card Holder.
I used SU Soft Suede for the basket. I created the weave for the front of the basket by cutting 5 strips at 1/2 x 5 1/4 and 9 strips at 1/2 x 2 3/4. Once the weaving was done, I attached it along the sides and bottom to a piece of Soft Suede cut at 2 3/4 x 5 1/4.
The pumpkins were cut with a Sizzix die using SU Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, and Pumpkin Pie. Boy, these colors scream ‘Fall’ to me. They look so nice together. I used a Chocolate Chip marker to color the stems. The pumpkins were then adhered to a piece of white card stock cut at 4 x 4 3/4. Once they were attached, I trimmed the excess card stock from around the top of the pumpkins.
I used pop dots to adhere the pumpkin on the front of the basket and the swirls were cut with a Sizzix die. The ribbon was a stray piece I had in my stash.
On the pull-out piece, you can stamp a sentiment and/or add a gift card. I will be including a gift card and giving it to my mother.
So, my crafting cap and I can’t take all the credit for this cute creation! My SU Demo, Raissa, had posted this adorable Sand Pail. It was her variation on the popular Flower Pot that everyone is currently making. After seeing Raissa’s cute pail, I started thinking, ‘what else can be created along those lines?’ The light bulb went on and my basket idea was born for a Halloween/Thanksgiving gift card holder. Thank you Raissa for the inspiration!
That’s it for today. Thanks for stopping by.
