Look at the beautiful flowers I received!
Last evening I ran an Exploding Box class at an adorable scrapbooking shop, Compendium (scrap-booking-shop.de) , in the Black Forest in Germany. We had a lovely evening despite the fact that I am not fluent in German and only three of the nine ladies there spoke English. Of course my directions were in English and my measurements were in inches. We all got through the obstacles and everyone made very nice boxes that were beautifully embellished.
So, back to the flowers. The bouquet was a ‘thank you’ from everyone and the shop owner made the pretty card to go along with the flowers. How nice was that?!?!? I sure was surprised.
Now to the Nugget Purses. I made these as thank you gifts for everyone that attended the class. I just love to make these ‘sweet’ gifts. They are so quick and easy to whip up. Here is the recipe:
4 1/2″ x 1 3/8″ patterned paper (you can also use cardstock & stamp it)
score at 3/4″, 1″, 2 1/4″, & 3 1/4″
round the corners of the front flap of the purse
attach (w/red sticky strip) 6″ length of ribbon between the 3/4″ & 1″ scores
add small embellishment to front & secure with a brad
best part–add a Hershey Nugget inside purse, secure with a small glue dot
I make these throughout the year in paper for the different holidays. I also use them for a booking game at my Princess House parties. They are always a big hit.
As I have been making these for quite a long time, I do not remember who to credit with the original idea.
I also was making an Exploding Box along with everyone else last evening. Unfortunately, I did not get to finish assembling and embellishing mine since I was assisting everyone. I should have it finished this week and will post it next Wednesday.
Until then, happy crafting!
Lisa
