Happy Monday!
It’s Monday and time for a new LNS Challenge. This week we are challenging you to create a project that screams Summer time!
What screams Summer time like a frozen drink at the beach?!?!?
Awhile back I saw a tutorial for a Lemonade Stand, but the finished card was only 4 x 4. I reworked it to a finished A2-sized Tiki Bar.
Start with a 4 1/4 x 11 piece of CS (Soft Suede), scored at 5 1/2. For the opening, cut in 7/8 on both sides and down 3 1/4. Now, score across at 3 1/4, between the two 7/8 cuts. Leave one score and cut across the other one. It will look like this:
Cut the flap so it is flush with the bottom of the card. That will be your bar top.
You will need two roof pieces (Crumb Cake), one cut at 2 1/2 x 4 1/4 and the other 2 x 4 1/4. Score both in the middle and make thin cuts with your paper scissors.
The entire Tiki Bar and Roof pieces were sponged. Now adhere the shorter roof piece on top of the longer piece and then adhere the entire roof to the bar.
I fussy cut the drinks, leaving a piece on the bottom of each that is scored across the bottom of the drink. Punch out 7/8 scalloped circles for coasters and cut slits in the middle. Your pieces will look like this:
Push the tabs through the slits, fold on the scores, and use glue dots to attach them under the coasters. I also used glue dots to attach the coasters to the bar top.
Here is how it looks from the back:
The Tiki Bar is self-standing and also folds flat. How neat is that?!?!?
Now that you have seen my Summer Time card/project, hop on over to the LNS Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the DT created. While you are there, check out the rules for participating. The challenge is open for two weeks so you have plenty of time to create a card, scrapbook page, or 3D project that screams Summer time. Please remember to link directly to your Challenge Project and to link back to the Challenge Blog in your posting. This challenge theme is so fun you must play along!
Thanks for stopping by!
