Happy Thursday,
This month’s Inspired by Stamping Blog Hop Challenge is the chalkboard technique. I made a chalkboard easel stand card for my very sweet friend, Jean.
Although I got the original idea for the card here, I didn’t follow that tutorial. To make the card, I started with an A2 base in white CS. From the bottom I cut in 3/4″ on both sides and up 2″. As I wanted the easel stand to look like wood, I brayered my Woodgrain EF with Crumb Cake ink before embossing the Crumb Cake CS. The ‘wood’ strips were attached to the front and inside of the card.
Supplies used: Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, and White CS, Melon Mambo and White Ink, White Embossing Powder, Woodgrain EF, PTI Banner Builder Dies, Bakers Twine, IBS Seam Binding and Flower, IBS Beautiful Iris and Fancy Alphabet Stamp Sets.
Thanks for stopping by!

Great idea to ink up the folder before embossing. It looks that much better! I haven't made a chalkboard card—> yet. Yes, that's a sad thing for one who is a teacher, right?! Your card is one of the prettiest chalkboard cards I've seen for sure. What a lucky jean! Hugs~
