Today’s card is for the IBS July Blog Hop. This month there are two sketches to choose from:
I immediately thought of a Gatefold card when I saw Sketch #1. Then I saw a tutorial for an Easel Gatefold card and had to give it a try. It turned out exactly how I envisioned (the beautiful Bo Bunny paper made it easy).
So, here is my card closed:
When it is first opened:
And, with the easel standing:
A few tips:
– I glued two doilies back to back so it would look nice on both sides.
– The bow is attached with a glue dot to the seam binding and a self-adhesive velcro dot on the end of the seam binding holds the card closed.
– I used a hot glue gun to attach the crochet trim (wanted to ensure it wouldn’t come loose from the pressure of the easel).
I hope you like today’s card as much as I do. Let me know if you have any questions on creating an Easel Gatefold card.
Thanks for stopping by!
