Happy Friday!
Today’s card is for the IBS February Blog Hop Challenge – Bows. Joanna has a great video on how to create four different bows. I made the triple loop one which is featured last in the video.
I definitely recommend watching the video. I am severely bow-challenged and cannot believe I made this gorgeous triple-loop bow.
As I do not have a wooden block with dowels (though Wolfgang said he will make me one) like Joanna used in the video, I searched for something in the house that I could substitute. You will not believe what I used:
Yes, the knife block from my kitchen! I removed four of the knives and used the two that you see in the picture. Easy Peasy–just move the knives to create different sized bows. Wolfgang will probably never make the bow maker now!
Some details: My card was inspired by this card, though I did not follow the tutorial for it. I created the fan with a single strip of DSP cut at 3 1/4 x 12 and scored every 1/2 inch. The card is a standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.
Supplies used: Concord Crush and Pink Pirouette CS and Ink, Lap of Luxury and Patterns Love DSP, SB HC Timeless Amour Dies, EKSuccess Corner Punch, MS Border Punch, IBS Shabby Pink Flower, May Arts Pink Silk Ribbon, ZVA Pearls, and IBS Just Because Stamp Set.
Thanks for stopping by!
Lisa
Ha! The cleverness of you! I would not have thought of that in a million years! Lol! But there's nothing funny about your card. It's drop dead gorgeous! I will definitely check out that tute bc I'm 2 left hands when it comes to bows *Ü* hugs~
Such a gorgeous card. Fabulous bow and beautiful colours.
That was super that you were able to improvise and use the supplies you had to make the bow. I would never have thought to do it, but think its a cool idea. Your bow and card turned out very lovely, Lisa. I think your fan looks very victorian the way you did it also, though I did appreciate the card that inspired you (gorgeous!).
Absolutely gorgeous card, sweetie!
Hi, dropping by to say just that and that once I've gone through the neighborhood to greet everyone, I'll be right back! Missed you and your talent, my sweet Lisa!
Absolutely stunning, Lisa! I love the fan, and the gorgeous bow. You are so clever!
WOW! So gorgeous Lisa! Love your fan and your colors too! Gorgeous Bow! Hugs, J
Truly gorgeous card Lisa…I just love that bow…!! Clever you…!!
hallo, liebe Lisa
endlich schaffe ich es, auch deinen Blog zu besuchen. Da warst ja megafleißig in der letzten Zeit!
BOAH!
And a lovely bow it is, Lisa! Congrats on your win!
