For my Inspired by Stamping post today, I am sharing a special project. A good friend
of mine asked me to make a card for her to give her husband for their 25th
anniversary. Seeing as we’ve been friends since I was eight and it is such a
special occasion, I went a little beyond a card! I created a card/mini
album/décor piece (for lack of a better name)!

So, let’s get started (picture

I started with 3 6×6
pieces of light wood.

I don’t remember what this
wood is called (it is heavier than Balsa, but lighter than plywood). You can
find it in the Big Box Home Improvement stores. My Crop-a-dile easily punched
through the wood.

Here is the cover. All the
patterned papers were cut to 6×6, adhered with liquid glue, then sanded and
sponged around the edges. I created the Anniversary wishes sentiment by
combining Anniversary from Pretty Planners and selectively inking wishes from the birthday wishes
stamp in Teeny Tiny Greetings, then mounted it on a die-cut from the Fancy Label Dies 3. The focal point sentiment is from the Big Wonderful build-a-sentiment stamp set (the MISTI sure makes it
easy to stamp with multiple ink colors). Love you, from Teeny Tiny
Greetings, and a heart trinket were
tucked among the hand-made rosettes (I punched scalloped circles, cut them into
spirals, and rolled them around tweezers).

This is one side of the
album opened. I stamped (with my MISTI) and clear embossed the Blessed beyond
measure sentiment, from Autumn Blessings, before adhering the paper to the wood. Best Day Ever

This is the actual card
part of the album. Hot glue was used to attach the ribbon to make it easy to
pull the card from the pocket. The beautiful sentiment is from Paris Love. There is a good amount of room on the front and back
to write a personal message, plus it is kept private in the pocket when the
album is out on display.

stamped the sentiments with my MISTI and clear embossed before adhering the

A lot of thought and love
went into this project. My friend’s husband likes family photos, flowers, and
sentimental writings, so this album was made totally with him in mind.
