This week’s image is Elvis in Boots. Isn’t he cute? I sponged the background with blue and green to create a stormy sky. His body was also sponged. Do you see that little bit of flocking on his tail and wing? Andrea posted a tutorial on creating your own fun flock. I wanted to give it a try, so I distressed a piece of yellow card stock and added a little fun flock to Elvis. The rest of the image was colored with markers. Perhaps you can’t see it, but I used my Sakura Stardust pen on the puddle, mast, and the center of Elvis’ eye. Since I always think of sails as being white, I didn’t color this one. I decided to monogram it instead. After I stamped the D for duck, the lightbulb went on and I remembered this cute guy is named Elvis. Sorry!
Anyway, we were supposed to use the above picture for inspiration for our card. I know I varied from it with the paisley paper, but I just had to use it. It made me think of water splashing as Elvis stomped through the puddle. If you look closely at the paper, you will see it has green and orange in it, and polka dots! By the way, the patterned paper is Poolhouse Paisley by Chatterbox. It’s very pretty and double-sided.
