How yummy do those cupcakes look?!?!? They reminded me of my favorite–devil’s food cake with cream cheese frosting. As soon as I saw them, I was inspired to make Wolfgang’s birthday card (he loves trains). Now, as his birthday isn’t until October 2, I have to tell him not to look on my blog!
This card is a variation on the spinner card. Rather than the train spinning, it slides back and forth. Is this called a slider card? I really don’t know. The card base is a white-speckled, black card stock cut at 10 x 7 (finished card is 5 x 7), layered with a cranberry card stock cut at 4 3/4 x 6 3/4. In order to make the train slide rather than spin, it is mounted on double pennies on the front and back of the train. I downloaded a ‘Railroad Font’ to create the Happy Birthday. Neat looking, isn’t it?
I layered the inside of the card with a piece of ‘U.S. map’ scrapbook paper. The pop-up train is a MS border punch.
I made a Ghirardelli box to go along with it.
So, what do you think?
