Happy Friday!
When I saw Rachel’s most recent cupcake inspiration, I was drooling. Yes, that cupcake not only looks yummy, but it is gorgeous and it is also my favorite color! I would just love to have that cupcake!
OK, enough drooling–let’s discuss my card. I made this 5 1/4 square card by following the SCS recessed window tutorial. I used the measurement for the card from the video, not the written tutorial. Both tutorials were helpful, but since the finished card is thick, I liked the idea of the extra scoring on top rather than just scoring the card in half.
The card base is a speckled, pink and lavender card stock, layered with plain purple. The recessed window is a swirled, pink and white card stock, layered with my favorite Disney paper. The swirls and butterfly were cut from Making Memories Silver Stardust card stock.
Unfortunately, my picture taking hasn’t improved. This card is so pretty and vibrant in real. My pictures do not do it justice. The ‘front’ view looks a little fuzzy and the colors from the ‘inside’ view look ‘off.’
On another note, how about those nails?!?!? Well, actually only one nail is visible. Coordinates nicely with the card! And no, they weren’t done just for this week’s challenge. The polish has already been on for more than two weeks.
I will definitely be making more recessed window cards. It was really easy to make. Check out the tutorial and give it a try. Also, visit Rachel’s blog (HopeStampsEternal) and browse around a bit. I’m sure you won’t be able to resist participating in the weekly cupcake challenges! Rachel also runs a great on-line shop.
Thanks for stopping by today.

What a fab looking cupcake. No wonder you chose it as your inspiration. I like how you used some shimmer paper on your card.
