Can you believe it’s August already? I don’t know about your neck of the woods, but in mine it has been a very wet summer. In fact, yesterday was another rainy day. So, what does one do on a runny Sunday? Bake and craft, of course!!! I made blueberry muffins, yummy! And the wonderful aroma got me in the mood for Rachel’s latest cupcake inspiration.
How cute are those owls and how yummy do those cupcakes look?!?!? OK, enough about sweets. On to the deets of my card…I used doubled sided card stock–one side is pink and the other side is blue. So, when you open the card the inside is blue with a pink scalloped circle. I thought this patterned paper was so appropriate for the card. It’s called Country Fair Wood Paper by Sandylion. The owl stamp is by HeroArts. I stamped him in brown ink and colored him with pencils. Do you like his big, blue eyes?!?!? For the ‘No Trespassing’ sign, I used a font in Word called Cracked Johnnie. At first I was going to hand-write the sign, but then I thought this font was so perfect. I printed it on beige card stock and sponged the edges in brown to give it a weathered look. I used twine to hang the sign. Yes, I do know the brad is a screw, not a nail. I recently got these brads in Michael’s and have been anxiously waiting for the opportunity to use them, or at least one of them! For the final touch, I punched out a couple of leaf sprigs to add a little more color to the card.
So, tell me, do you think this little owl is a squatter or just someone that doesn’t want any visitors?!?!?
I hope you like my cupcake inspired card. Personally, I think it is really cute! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you get a chance to participate in this week’s challenge.
Lisa
p.s. I was in the top five again last week!
