I made this album for Wolfgang for Christmas. It is made from 6×6 pieces of wood, not chipboard.
I started this during the Summer at the Compendium (LSS) when I was in Germany. I got as far as covering the wood with the Christmas patterned paper and punching the holes for the ribbon. After so many months, I’m not certain what make of paper it is. I think it’s My Mind’s Eye. (Anne oder Diana, kannst Du mich erinnern?)
So, always being last minute, a few days before Christmas I decided to finish it. I used pictures from different Christmases. What I really like about this is that it can fold as in the picture above and can stand open as below.
The two poinsettias are stickers I had in my stash. The snowflake was cut with a Sizzix die using sticky-back glitter foam. The ornaments are stickers I got last week on the clearance rack at Michael’s–.49 a pack and I bought all five that they had.
This is the flip side. The tree on the left was cut with a Sizzix die using SU Old Olive. The sparkly Merry is a sticker from M’s. Can you see the rhinestone snowflakes in the next picture? Yup, M’s also. They fit perfectly in the middle of the snowflakes on the paper. The ornament border was a bit time consuming. After I punched the border (MS punch) from white card stock, I ‘filled in’ the ornament openings with SU Real Red, Old Olive, and Bashful Blue. It coordinates very nicely with the colors in the striped paper. The picture on that page is from this Christmas. That spot was blank when I gave the album to Wolfgang and I just had a chance yesterday to edit and print the picture. (You can click on any picture to enlarge it.)
And, yes, I did re-do a card for Wolfgang. I used Sage Shadow for the card base.

What a great project this is. How clever of you to make it out of wood so that it stands up for display during the holidays and folds for storage later. Very nice.
