Happy Monday!
Like just about everyone, when I saw the ornament on the cover of the SU Holiday Catalog, I absolutely had to make one. I decided to see if I could create it with my Spellbinders Ornament Dies. But, I chose to begin with Halloween rather than Christmas!
Today’s ornament is for Crafty Friends Challenge #7, which is to create anything Halloween-themed, and for Week 8 of The Great Pumpkin Blog Hop.
As the Spellbinder Dies are different sizes than the Framelits, I used a 2 1/4 circle base. Can you see the sparkle? The entire ornament, including the tulle, was spritzed with Champagne Shimmer Mist. Yesterday I ordered Halloween Baker’s Twine, so, when that arrives, I will be adding it where the SU sample had (I think) Linen Thread. Overall, I am quite pleased with it and will definitely make a Christmas version.
Supplies used: SU Ghostly Greetings DSP, Pumpkin Pie Button and Champagne Shimmer Mist, CTMH Pearl and Tulle, and Spellbinders Heirloom Ornaments 2010 and 2011.
Edited to add: I used the second smallest die from the 2010 Heirloom Ornaments and the third (middle) die from the 2011 Heirloom Ornaments. The rosette was made with a 3/4 x 12 strip of DSP.
Lisa, your ornament is beautiful! Thank you so much for participating in the Crafty Friends challenge.
Hugs and smiles
