Have you heard about the Cards 4 Kids challenge? Pat (The Rubber Maid) has a goal of collecting 1,000 Valentine’s Day cards for the patients at The Children’s Hospital of Michigan. You can read all about it (and hopefully participate as well) here:
When I first learned of this challenge I definitely wanted to make some cards. Then, I looked through my Valentine’s stamps and couldn’t come up with any ideas for cards for children. All of a sudden yesterday a light bulb went on and I said to myself, “Lisa, Tic Tac Toe cards are a fabulous idea!” Now, why didn’t I think of this sooner?!?!? Perhaps others have come up with this brilliant idea before, but I haven’t seen it yet. So, what is so special about these cards? They aren’t just cards, they are also Tic Tac Toe games! The hearts and Xs are attached with velcro so the children can actually play with these cards (the second picture above shows one of the hearts removed from the card). Inside each card is an additional heart so there are a total of 5 hearts and 5 Xs.
The hearts and Xs were cut using Sizzix dies. The heart is the smallest one from a set of four and the X is from the Lollipop uppercase alphabet set. I used metallic card stock because it is very sturdy.
These cards will be in the mail to Pat tomorrow.
Wow, I am so excited over these cards! I hope you like them too!
My mind is racing–I’m already thinking of pumpkin/ghost Tic Tac Toes for Halloween and tree/snowmen Tic Tac Toes for Christmas!
Thanks for stopping by today.

Too cute Lisa! My mom… and more importantly, the kiddos will absolutely love this! Ingenious! Thanks so much for giving to this cause!
I am so impressed with these! What a great twist actually making them “playable”! That is just wonderful! Thanks for visiting me, and thanks so much for helping! Best, Curt
These are really wonderful!! I’m sure the kids will love playing with them.
