Happy Monday!
The house is decorated, the cards have been started, and Wolfgang’s Advent Calendar is finished!
I took the picture last evening so the lights would show. Of course, it is much nicer in real. I have to say, I am quite pleased with how it turned out.
Some details: I started with a Kaisercraft Beyond the Page Advent Calendar kit. It was a big job painting and assembling the pieces. I used Craft Smart Gloss Acrylic Paint and sponge brushes. The calendar box took two coats of Tuscan Red and the numbers four coats of White. Luckily, this paint dried quickly.
I hot glued the string of lights (it is a necklace that I bought at M’s) and hid the switch behind the fireplace (3x3x1). The mantel is adorned with branch punches and poinsettias. The Comfy Sofa was cut at 66% (the bottom slides out for the ’25 box.’ Our names for the stockings and the mini picture were printed in Word. The Noel banner was ‘strung’ with Baker’s Twine.
Supplies used: Basic Black, Brushed Silver, Crushed Curry, Kraft, and Shimmery White CS, Various brands of PP, Versafine Satin Red Ink, Punches: EKSuccess Star, MS Branch, and SU Stocking, Sizzix Teddy Bear Die, Spellbinders 2010 Heirloom Ornaments, 2010 Holiday Trees, Fleur de Lis Squares, and Layered Poinsettia Dies, Creations by AR Comfy Sofa Template, Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details, Rhinestones, Ornament Light Necklace, and IBS Fancy Alphabet Stamps.
Challenges: I will be linking the Advent Calendar to IBSIC #37 (Inspiration Photo along with the colors Green, Red, and White) and Simon Says Stamp Challenge (Anything Goes).
