I am so excited about today’s post! I came up with this design myself. I haven’t seen anything like it posted before, but if someone has already done it, please wait at least 24 hours before bursting my bubble!
I’ve had this project in my head for awhile and was planning to make it for Halloween with black plasticware and straws. Then I saw Shelli’s Summer Challenge and thought this would be perfect.
What do you think of the napkins? As soon as I saw them (in The Dollar Store) I knew they would go great with the Summer Picnic DSP. The plasticware is light blue to coordinate with the Bashful Blue in the DSP and the straws are striped with blue, green, red, and yellow. I really tried to tie the whole project together. I even thought to add the Wet Wipes, which are a necessity at a barbeque or picnic. This carry-all looks so bright and summery (if I do say so myself!). I do think the Scallop Oval punch would have added a nice touch around the handle, but I don’t have it yet! Yes, it is on the list for my next order.
So, on to the measurements:
Center of holder – card stock cut at 6 3/4 x 9 3/4 (next time I would probably cut it at 9 rather than 9 3/4 and I would adhere two pieces together rather than just using one)
Napkin pocket – card stock cut at 4 1/2 x 9 3/4, scored at 1/2 and 1 1/2 on three sides
Wet Wipe pocket – card stock cut at 3 x 6.1, scored at 1/2 and 1 1/2 on three sides
Plasticware pockets – card stock cut at 4 1/2 x 5, scored at 1/2 and 1 1/2 on three sides
Straw pockets – card stock cut at 4 x 4, scored at 1/2 and 1 in three sides
Note: pockets are 3 inches high, except Wet Wipe which is 1 1/2 high
: pockets are 1 inch deep, except straw pockets which are 1/2 deep
Materials/Products Used:
Card stock – SU Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, and Whisper White, Misc. blue, green, and yellow
DSP – SU Summer Picnic (retired)
Ink – ColorBox Lipstick Red and Yellow Citrus, SU Pumpkin Pie, and Versamagic Aloe Vera
Markers – SU Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, and Real Red
Misc. – Double sided tape, Pop Dots, Red Sticky Tape
Stamp Sets – SU Fruity Phrases (retired) and Tart & Tangy
Tools – Coluzzle Oval template, SU 1 1/4 circle, 1 3/8 circle, and scallop circle punches
My Carry-All could be made/used for any occasion. How about a barbeque or baby shower? I still plan to make one for Halloween. If you make one I would appreciate if you credit my design and link back to me so I can see what you came up with. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Thanks for stopping by.
